Pirates kidnapped three Romanian sailors after attacking a tanker ship off the city of Lomé on Sunday, March 3. The incident reportedly occurred some 32 km (20 mi) off the Togolese coast. Additional incidents of piracy and kidnapping are possible in the Gulf of Guinea in the near-term.
