Finnish air traffic controllers reach agreement with employers, calling off strike planned from March 4-11

Air traffic controllers in Finland have called off a strike planned from Monday, March 4, through Monday, March 11, after successful negotiations with their employers. An agreement was reached between the Finnish Air Traffic Controllers Association (SLJY) union and the Service Industry Employers (PALTA) on February 28. According to SLJY leaders, no air traffic disruptions are expected as shifts are normalizing following the negotiations.
Context
SLJY organized a nationwide strike from February 23 through February 25 in an effort to speed up talks with PALTA. Salary negotiations have been ongoing for over 18 months and both sides accuse the other of refusing to resolve the dispute.
