Road closures anticipated for Tel Aviv Marathon on February 22

The annual Tel Aviv Marathon will take place on Friday, February 22, beginning at 06:00 (local time). Organizers expect 40,000 runners to participate in the races and a roughly equal number of spectators to line the route. Significant transportation disruptions are anticipated on the marathon route. Roads in the vicinity of the event, especially near Hayarkon Park, will be closed until after the conclusion of the marathon and associated races around 13:30 local time. An increased security presence is expected throughout the city for the duration of the marathon.

The Tel Aviv Marathon has been held annually from 1981 to 1994 and from 2009 to present.
