Papua New Guinea: Flooding kills nine in Central province January 15

Recent heavy rains caused flooding that had left nine people dead in Papua New Guinea's Central province as of Tuesday, January 15. One additional person remains missing. Though the heaviest-expected rainfall has passed, further storms are forecast over the coming days. Flooding and associated disruptions, including infrastructure damage and road and bridge closures, cannot be ruled out.
