Dense fog in eastern Pakistan reduced visibility on Wednesday, January 2, and Thursday, January 3, resulting in transportation disruptions in the early hours (local time). The cities of Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Bahawalpur (Punjab province) were affected, resulting in transportation disruptions and road closures. Visibility in those areas was limited to around 50 m (55 yards). Similar conditions are expected to continue in Punjab along with upper Sindh province and Peshawar division (Kyber Pakhtunhwa province).

Context

Dense fog is common during the winter months from December through February in upper Sindh, central Kyber Paktunkhwa, and Punjab provinces.
