Nine government agencies warned against bad behavior during the upcoming festivities surrounding the Lunar New Year on Tuesday, February 5. People caught misbehaving on roads and public transportation will be banned from rail or air travel, according to the announcement. Lunar New Year festivities begin on Monday, January 28, and continue through the official new year date of February 5 until the Lantern Festival on Tuesday, February 19, with main events from Monday, February 4, to Sunday, February 10. Nearly 3 billion trips are expected to be taken during this period. Crowded conditions are expected at airports, rail stations, and roads, as well as hotels.
