US: Flight disruptions in the northeast likely November 2

Stormy weather forecast for the northeast November 2; flight disruptions likely

Warning

Event

Stormy weather is forecast for parts of the northeast on Friday, November 2. The National Weather Service has issued high wind warnings for much of the region (e.g. all or parts of the states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania). This adverse weather combined with air traffic control restrictions could lead to flight delays and cancelations at airports in the region, including in New York City-Newark (JKF, LGA, EWR), Boston (BOS), Hartford (BDL), and Philadelphia (PHL), as well as in Washington, DC (BWI, DCA, IAD). Other transportation disruptions, inducing hazardous driving conditions and rail disruptions, are also possible, along with power outages.

Advice

Individuals in the above areas are advised to follow local weather reports and confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport.
