US: Flood warnings in central states October 8

Flash flood watches and warnings in effect in various central states October 8; monitor local weather reports

Heavy rain is forecast for much of the central US on Monday, October 8, and into the following days in some regions. Flash flood watches and warnings issued by the National Weather Service are currently place in parts of the following states: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin. Associated transportation disruptions, inducing hazardous driving conditions and flight disruptions, are possible, along with power outages.

Individuals in the above areas are advised to follow local weather reports and adhere to any advice or instruction issued by the local authorities. Remember that driving or walking through running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
