Severe power outages were reported in Karachi on Saturday, October 20. According to local sources, Saturday's outage was the fourth major power cut in October alone. The outage began at 12:00 (local time) and affected nearly 70 percent of the city, including the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Clifton, Saddar, Lyari, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Federal B Area, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad, North Karachi, Malir, Landhi, and Korangi areas. Power was not restored until after 14:00, and in some areas not until later into the evening of October 20. Additional power outages are possible in Karachi in the near term.
