Orange weather alerts issued for snow/ice in the Massif Central region and rain in southeastern France October 29; associated transportation disruptions expected

Orange weather alerts for snow and ice were issued on Monday, October 29, for nine departments in the Massif Central region: Creuse, Corrèze, Puy-de-Dôme, Loire, Cantal, Haute-Loire, Lozère, Aveyron, and Tarn. Orange rain and flood alerts are also in effect in the southeastern departments of Var and Alpes-Maritimes, as well as on the island of Corsica.

Associated transportation disruptions are expected, along with possible power outages.

Individuals in the affected regions are advised to monitor local weather reports, and avoid flood-prone areas.
