Student associations have called for a demonstration in Tizi Ouzou (Tizi Ouzou province, Kabylie region) on Sunday, October 28. According to local sources, the demonstration is being organized to denounce mandatory Arabic classes in schools and to protest comments made by Naïma Salhi, a member of the People's National Assembly, who called for a boycott of the Amazigh language. Demonstrators are expected to rally in downtown Tizi Ouzou starting at 11:00 (local time).
