Security staff at Amsterdam Airport to hold 24-hour strike on September 4; associated strikes possible at other Dutch airports

Warning

Event

Security staff at Amsterdam-Schiphol International Airport (AMS) have threatened to hold a 24-hour strike on Tuesday, September 4. Associated strikes are possible on the same day at other airports in the Netherlands. Increased waiting times are to be anticipated during any such strikes. Consequent flight delays are possible and cancelations cannot be ruled out.

A number of brief warning strikes have been held by security staff at AMS since late July, though no associated flight disruptions have been reported.

Advice

Travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure to the airport and be prepared for long waiting times.
