India: Heavy rainfalls in Gurgaon (New Delhi region) affecting road traffic (Aug. 28)

In the morning of August 28, heavy downpours hit Gurgaon - officially named Gurugram, a satellite city of New Delhi, in the state of Haryana -, disrupting road traffic and daily life. The road traffic along the Delhi-Jaipur-Mumbai highway was particularly badly hit. Severe rainfalls with lightning was recorded near the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), located 16 km (10 mi) from downtown New Delhi.
