Explosive devices thrown at two politicians’ houses in Belfast on July 13; no casualties reported

On the evening (local time) of Friday, July 13, an explosive device was thrown at the Belfast house of Gerry Adams, an Irish republican politician of the Sinn Féin party. According to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), a similar explosive device was also thrown at the house of Bobby Storey, a Irish republican political activist. No casualties were reported in either attack. Police are currently investigating the incidents. Anticipate a heightened security presence in Belfast in the coming hours and days.
