On July 10, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos announced that there are plans to close the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos state from 00:01 (local time) on Friday, July 13, to 23:59 on Sunday, July 15, to carry out tests for future repairs. Traffic disruptions are expected in Lagos for the duration of the closure, particularly on the Eko and Carter bridges. As of July 11, the government had not made detour details or a full repair schedule public.
