Major disruptions continue to affect rail services to and from Paris-Montparnasse train station and travelers continue to be advised to postpone their journeys if possible. As of Monday, July 30, approximately half of trains that normally serve the station have been canceled - including 114 high-speed trains (TGVs) - and many have been rerouted to Paris-Austerlitz and Paris-Vaugirard stations; a list of cancelations is available here. Major delays are also to be anticipated.

Normal services are currently not expected to resume until at least Thursday, August 2.

The disruptions have been caused by a fire affecting the electrical grid in the suburb of Issy-les-Moulineaux, which broke out around noon on July 27.

Advice

Travelers are advised to confirm rail reservations and consider using alternate routes.
