Some celebrating fans have rioted and clashed with police in Paris, Lyon, and Rouen after France's victory in the FIFA World Cup football final on Sunday, July 15. In Paris, rioters reportedly vandalized a bar and 30 people robbed a shop on Avenue des Champs-Élysées. A heightened security presence has been deployed in Paris to supervise the thousands celebrating the victory. In Lyon, police reportedly fired tear gas at a group of young people vandalizing public property. In Rouen, police evacuated the City Hall square after several people threw bottles at police officers; two journalists were also wounded by rioters. World Cup-related unrest has also been reported in Grenoble, Marseille, Le Havre, Nice, Cannes, Strasbourg, and Nantes as of Sunday evening (local time). Additional World Cup-related public disturbances are possible in France over the coming days.

Additionally, the French national team will participate in a victory parade on Avenue des Champs-Élysées (from the Arc de Triomphe to the Champs-Élysées roundabout) from 17:30 to 18:30 on Monday, July 16, before President Emmanuel Macron receives the team at the Élysée Palace. Heightened security measures and traffic disruptions are expected near the parade route and the Élysée Palace. In general, crowded conditions are expected across Paris during the festivities.
