Uruguay: Four-hour general strike June 28

The PIT-CNT union has called for a four-hour general strike to take place on Thursday, June 28, from 09:00 (local time) until 13:00. Workers from various sectors are represented by the umbrella union, including transportation workers, healthcare workers, bankers, and teachers. At this stage it is unclear who will take part. An associated march will be held in the capital Montevideo; demonstrators will gather at the University of the Republic before marching to the Legislative Palace (Palacio Legislativo).

A 24-hour anti-governmental strike has also been called for July 25.
