Slovenia: Parliamentary elections set for June 3

Parliamentary elections to take place in Slovenia on June 3; anticipate politcal-related events in coming weeks

Parliamentary elections will be held throughout Slovenia on Sunday, June 3. Political gatherings are likely to take place in the days leading up to the election. Protests denouncing the election results are also possible following the vote. An increased security presence and associated transportation disruptions are expected in the vicinity of all election events.

Context

On June 3 candidates will vie for the 90 national seats in the Slovenian Parliament. The vote was initially set for June 9, but Parliament called for snap elections following the resignation of  Prime Minister Miro Cerar on March 18.
