A red alert (the highest on a three-tiered scale; major damage and accidents likely) for strong winds, ice, and snow was issued for Goslar, Harz-berg, Mansfeld-Südharz, Nordhausen, and Osterode am Harz. Amber warnings (the second highest on a three-tiered scale) are in place for much of the rest of Germany until Sunday night between 18:00 and 21:00.
