France: Another Air France strike on March 30

Air France staff set to strike March 30; significant flight delays and cancelations expected

Warning

Event

Unions representing Air France pilots, flight attendants, and ground crew staff are planning to hold a strike on Friday, March 30. If the strike goes ahead, significant flight disruptions (delays and cancelations) are likely. As a reminder, the Air France strike follows a general public sector strike, set for March 22, in which air traffic controllers are taking part (March 21-23), as well as another Air France strike scheduled to begin March 23; this earlier strike will also affect Air France subsidiaries Joon and Hop!.

Context

Eleven unions representing Air France staff have called for the strike to demand salary increases after years of wage stagnation. A similar strike was held on February 22 and resulted in Air France canceling a quarter of its flights.

Advice

Potentially impacted travelers are advised to verify the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and to contact the airline for more information.
