Manhunt underway following knife attack in Vienna’s Leopoldstadt; avoid the area

At approximately 19:45 (local time) on Wednesday, March 7, a knife-wielding man reportedly stabbed three pedestrians in Vienna's Leopoldstadt neighborhood, near the entrance to the Nestroyplatz metro station. Following the attack, the suspect fled towards Praterstern, where a fourth person was also reportedly stabbed. Police officers have been deployed to the area and a search for the attacker in ongoing. Affected areas have reportedly been cordoned off, and Nestroyplatz metro station has been closed. Further details are still emerging.
