Antigua and Barbuda: National elections March 21 /update 1

In late February, Prime Minister Gaston Browne called for national parliamentary elections to take place on Wednesday, March 21. However, no polling stations will be open on the island of Barbuda, meaning residents will have to travel to Antigua to cast their vote. Electoral officials may offer special ferry or plane services to transport voters. Regardless, increased demand for public ferries is to be anticipated throughout the day.

Furthermore, election-related protests and rallies are possible before, during, and after the election, although unrest or violence is unlikely.
