Zimbabwe: New visa regime to enter into effect

New visa regime enters to enter into effect; tourism visa available for nationals of 28 countries upon arrival

The Department of Immigration announced on Thursday, February 15, that a new visa regime had been launched “with immediate effect” for travelers from 28 countries. Citizens from these countries will henceforth be able to obtain a tourist visa upon arrival at Harare International Airport (HRE). The concerned countries include India, Mexico, Ethiopia, Panama, Romania, and Armenia, among others, in addition to all citizens from member states of the regional block Southern Africa Development Corporation (SADC). The Zimbabwean Tourism Authority announced that a full list of the countries would be made available soon. Further information is available on the website​ of the Zimbabwe Department of Immigration.

The new visa scheme is a bid to boost the tourism industry.
