Taxi drivers to stage anti-Uber protests nationwide February 21; anticipate traffic disruptions

Paraguayan taxi driver unions have called for anti-Uber protests to take place on Wednesday, February 21. Caravans of taxis are expected to cause traffic disruptions in the capital Asunción as well as other cities, including Ciudad del Este, Encarnación, Pedro Juan Caballero, and Coronel Oviedo. Clashes between protesters and security forces are possible.

A decreased availability of taxis is to be anticipated.
