France: Flood risk in various areas, including Paris, January 24 /update 1

Flood alerts in effect January 24 in various departments; Paris train stations closed due to flooding along the Seine

Orange flood alerts issued by the French meteorological authorities at Météo France remain in effect in some 20 departments in the north and east of the country - including the Paris region - as of Wednesday, January 24.

Due to flooding along the Seine River in Paris, a number of stations along the RER C commuter rail line - Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, Musée d'Orsay, Invalides, Pont de l'Alma, Champ de Mars, Avenue du Président Kennedy, and Boulainvilliers - are closed as of Wednesday. The stations could remain closed until at least Friday, January 26.
