At least 15 people were injured when a car hit multiple pedestrians along a boardwalk near the Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janiero’s South Zone on Thursday, January 18. The incident occurred around 20:30 (local time) near the intersection of Rua Figueiredo de Magalhães and Avenida Atlântica. According to initial reports, the driver allegedly suffered a seizure, causing him to lose control; he has been detained by the police. Police are still investigating the incident. Avoid the area.
