An ongoing influenza outbreak in Algeria had left at least four people dead as of Saturday, January 6. On Saturday, a patient from Sidi Ghiles (Tipaza province) died from the flu after suffering from acute respiratory distress; the deceased patient had reportedly suffered from another chronic illness and was not vaccinated against influenza. The influenza outbreak may spread further throughout Tipaza province, and elsewhere in Algeria, in the coming weeks.
