Following the initial impact of Storm Ana, 50,000 households across the country remain without electricity as of Tuesday, December 12. Orange weather alerts (the second-highest on a four-point scale) issued by the French meteorological authorities (Météo France) remain in place for five departments due to adverse weather conditions. The southeastern departments of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, and Alpes-Maritimes are under orange avalanche alerts. The northern departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais are under orange alert for snow and ice.

Related transportation disruptions occurred throughout Monday. Nice International Airport (NCE) was forced to close due to excessive winds; the airport reopened Tuesday at 07:00 (local time), although flight disruptions continue to be reported.
