Authorities warn that heavy rain is forecast from November 6-8 in southern provinces; additional flooding possible

Authorities have warned residents in Thailand's southern provinces to prepare for adverse weather conditions in the coming days. According to the Thai Meteorological Department, heavy rain and strong winds are forecast from Monday, November 6, through Wednesday, November 8, in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The heavy rains are associated with Typhoon Damrey, which has killed at least 27 people and displaced 30,000 more in nearby Vietnam.
Context
Thailand has been hit by severe floods during this year's monsoon season, which spans from April through October. Flooding October 10-28 killed at least ten people and affected 325,000 more in 23 provinces.
