At least 28 people were injured, including two seriously, in Singapore on Wednesday morning, November 15, when a train collided into a stalled train at the Joo Koon MRT station. The accident occurred during rush hour, around 08:00 (local time); the first train had stalled as it entered the station. The incident led to a suspension of services on the East-West line. Traffic resumed around 17:15 but residual disruptions continue.

Context

The incident was reportedly caused by a malfunction of the new signaling system.
