Eight missing following major landslide in Bregaglia on August 24; search and rescue operations underway

Eight people are reportedly missing in southeastern Switzerland following a major landslide that occurred on the morning of Wednesday, August 24, in the municipality of Bregaglia, located in the canton of Grisons. Search and rescue operations have been launched and some 100 villagers from Bregaglia have been evacuated. The major road in the Grisons Valley has been closed until further notice.
