Metro workers in Barcelona will enter their twelfth round of strikes as they continue to demand better working conditions. During the strike, 40 percent of trains will run during rush hours between 07:00 to 09:00 (local time) and between 16:00 to 18:00, and 20 percent of trains will run between 20:30 to 22:30.

Officials warned that the reduced services are not sufficient to cope with normal demand and said that longer waiting times, as well as delays, are to be expected.

Context

About 3500 metro workers in Barcelona have promised to stage an indefinite number of strikes, every Monday, in the hope of reaching a favorable agreement over pay disputes and working conditions.
