Hailstorms and strong winds forecast in southern and western Poland July 10; anticipate possible transportation disruptions

Thunderstorms with heavy hail and winds reaching 100 kph (62 mph) are expected in eight provinces located in southern and western Poland on Monday, July 10. The Poland’s Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued level-two alerts (the second-highest on a three-tier scale) in Swietokrzyskie, Dolnoslaskie, Slaskie, Wielkopolskie, Malopolskie, Lubuskie, Opolskie, and Lodzkie.

Transport disruptions (rail, road) due to debris blocking roads or tracks are possible. Localized power cuts and flooding may also occur.
