Afghan officials have reported that more than 84 have been injured and nine killed in large explosion caused by a vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), which detonated in the vicinity of Zanbaq Square, Wazir Akbar Khan, in the center of Kabul’s diplomatic quarter, May 31. The number of casualties is expected to rise. The situation may be ongoing.

Where possible, individuals area advised to avoid the area until further notice. The area is currently on lockdown. Follow all security force directives. Shelter in place.
