Increased security measures will be implemented nationwide during celebrations of Mawlid which will take place on Wednesday, November 21. Transportation disruptions (e.g. due to crowded airports, etc.) are to be anticipated during this period due to an increased number of travelers. While celebrations typically remain peaceful, the terrorist threat will remain elevated during this period as terrorist groups may target crowded mosques or public places.

Context

Mawlid, celebrated on the 12th day of the third month of the Islamic calendar, commemorates the birth of the Prophet Mohammad.
