The opposition coalition Convergence des forces patriotiques, led by former Prime Minister Moussa Mara, and the Front pour la sauvegarde de la démocratie, led by opposition leader Soumaila Cissé, held a rally at the Bourse du Travail despite a ban by the local government on the demonstration. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the demonstration.
