Canada: Storms and travel disruptions in the east Nov. 16 /update 1

Winter storms and strong winds are forecast for much of the east of the country on Friday, November 16, along with transportation disruptions. Flight delays and cancelations are to be anticipated at airports in the region, including those serving Montréal (YUL), Toronto (YTZ, YYZ), Ottawa (YOW), Bathurst (ZBF), Charlottetown (YYG), Fredericton (YFC), Gaspé (YGP), Halifax (YHZ), Moncton (YQM), Saint John (YSJ), Saint John’s (YYT), Sydney (YQY), and Îles-de-la-Madeleine (YGR). Rail and road disruptions - notably hazardous driving conditions - are also to be anticipated. Power outages are also likely. The disruptions could potentially continue into the weekend.

The Meteorological Service of Canada has issued snow and wind warnings for parts of the following provinces: New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Québec.
