The Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing that left seven people dead in Jalalabad on Saturday, August 25. According to security officials, at approximately 11:30 (local time) on August 25, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device during a demonstration in front of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) in Jalalabad. Further attacks targeting political events are possible in Jalalabad in the coming weeks.
