France: Train on Lyon-Givor line derails near Grigny evening of April 28 /update 2

Rail traffic will be suspended on the Lyon-Givor line until May 1after a landslide forced a passenger train to derail in Grigny; the incident occurred shortly after 19:00 on April 28. At least 200 passengers were on the train at the time of the incident. Some passengers were reportedly treated for minor injuries.

Increased security is likely until authorities have cleared and repaired the impacted section of the track. Rail disruptions, including diversions, are ongoing on the impacted line.
