Peru: Weather alerts for heavy rain in the east November 19-21

The national weather service SENAMHI has issued alerts for heavy rain throughout the north and east of the country forecast from Monday, November 19, through Wednesday, November 21. Red alerts, the highest level, are in effect for parts of Madre de Dios, Puno, and Cusco regions. Lower orange and yellow alerts are in effect in the regions of Amazonas, Huánuco, Junín, Loreto, Pasco, San Martín, and Ucayali. Up to 7.5 cm (3 in) of rain is expected in some areas daily. Associated flooding and landslides are possible, along with transportation disruptions and power outages.
