US: Tropical storm Lane brings heavy rains to Hawaii August 26 /update 10

Tropical storm, Lane has continued to bring heavy rains to Hawaii as of Sunday, August 26. According to weather officials, Lane has been the third largest storm in terms of total rainfall in the United States since 1950, with some regions receiving up to 116 cm (46 in) of rain in past days. Lane was downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm by the Central Pacific Hurricane Center on Friday, August 24, as it moved south of Oahu. As of Sunday morning (local time), flood advisories are in effect in Oahu, and flash flood warnings are in effect for areas of Big Island, Oahu, Lanai, and Maui. Flooding and landslides are possible in the coming hours as Lane continues to move northwest. Travel disruptions are possible over the coming days.
