Sri Lanka: Rail workers' strike ends August 12 /update 1

Normal train services are expected to resume with some residual disruptions after a nationwide strike by rail workers was called off on Sunday, August 12. The decision to end the work stoppage, which launched on August 8, came after trade unions reportedly reached an agreement with President Maithripala Sirisena to resolve a pay dispute.
