Morocco: Royal Air Maroc flight disruptions continue /update 6

Royal Air Maroc flight disruptions, reported since July 20, continue as of August 13; confirm flights

Warning

Event

Flight disruptions at Morocco's national airline Royal Air Maroc - ongoing since July 20 - continue. Another eight flights have been canceled so far for Monday, August 13. Further cancelations are likely in the coming days. Affected travelers are being permitted to postpone their flights by up to 15 days or receive a refund.

Context

According to the airline, the disruptions are due to a pilot strike. However, the national pilot union AMPL has denied that such a strike is being held, saying pilots are simply refusing to work on their days off. Regardless, negotiations have reportedly been at an impasse since the beginning of the month and no solution is expected in the short-term. More than 200 flights have been canceled in total since July 20.

Advice

Travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and to contact the airline for more information.
