Taiwan: Heavy rains cause major travel disruptions June 2

Adverse weather is causing significant travel disruptions in northern Taiwan, including the capital Taipei, as of Friday, June 2. Flight disruptions (delays and cancelations) have been reported at Taipei’s Songshan (TSA) and Taoyuan (TPE) international airports. Ground handling services are affected, meaning luggage delivery is being delayed. Flooding and landslides have also resulted in rail and public transit disruptions as well as closed roads throughout the island.

The rainy season (monsoon season) in Taiwan runs from June until October.
